With nearly 15 years of communications and cause marketing experience, Ted Deutsch founded Deutsch Communications Group determined to offer fresh approaches to communications and cause partnerships.
As Vice President of Communications and Public Affairs for Cendant Car Rental Group, Ted was responsible for internal communications to more than 26,000 employees and external relations for Avis Rent A Car and Budget Rent A Car. During his years with Cendant Corp. and Washington, DC public affairs firm APCO Worldwide, he worked on projects for household brands like Century 21®, Ramada®, UPS® and Roche®, while forging partnerships with nonprofit's like Make-A-Wish Foundation®, Special Olympics®, MADD® and Afterschool Allstars®.
Ted's experience includes: authoring speeches delivered to conventions of thousands of executives and frontline workers; creating and editing major print publications; producing videos; leading major PR campaigns; and crafting cause partnerships that have generated significant funds for both the nonprofit and company sponsors. He has earned third party recognition for employee communications (Avis News), and issue-oriented campaigns (Avis Access program for travelers with disabilities).
A New Jersey native, Ted earned his A.B. in History from Princeton University and M.S. in Foreign Service from Georgetown University. He currently serves on the board of directors of Morristown, NJ-based Project Acorn, the Marketing Advisory Board of the Boys and Girls Clubs of New Jersey, and the advisory board of The Princeton University Center for Civic Engagement. He is a 2005 graduate of The Leadership New Jersey Fellowship Program.
Ted and his wife Jessica live with their son and daughter in central New Jersey, where they are active with the schools and several civic organizations.
Katelyn De Rogatis, Account Manager, brings a mix of public relations and corporate responsibility expertise to DCG. Her client responsibilities include research, media relations and project management.
Prior to joining DCG, Katelyn worked for Bristol-Myers Squibb Company as a consultant in the corporate communications department, where she contributed to the company’s philanthropic endeavors, specifically SECURE THE FUTURE, the $150 million initiative to fight HIV/AIDS in Africa.
Katelyn earned her B.A. in communication studies from the College of New Jersey and held a variety of internships during her college years, including at MTV Networks and Manhattan-based PR firm, Marina Maher Communications. She has also provided strategic marketing and public relations support to a variety of non-profit and start-up ventures including: Princeton Healthcare System, the Eating Disorder Association of New Jersey, J&M Custom Cycles and Dress for Success Mercer County. She is a member of the Mercer Regional Chamber of Commerce and oversees the 2008 Young Business Leaders Council as co-chair. Katelyn has also recently been selected to judge the 2008 International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella.
Elliot Bloom, senior counselor, provides seasoned counsel to DCG corporate and nonprofit clients, with particular expertise in corporate social responsibility and corporate image-related communications issues.
Elliot affiliated with Deutsch Communications Group after most recently serving as senior vice president and chief communications officer for Travelport Ltd., where he was responsible for corporate communications, corporate branding, digital media, media relations, crisis management, financial public relations, M&A communications, and employee communications. Travelport is one of the world’s largest travel conglomerates, owning the Galileo and Worldspan global distribution system business as well as approximately 48% of Orbitz Worldwide, a leading global online travel company.
Elliot previously served as senior vice president of corporate communications for leading travel and real estate giant, Cendant Corporation, from the company’s inception until its breakup in 2006. Cendant, with annual revenues of $19 billion and 90,000 employees in 110 countries, owned and operated well-known global brands such as Avis, Century 21, Coldwell Banker, PHH Mortgage, Ramada, Wyndham Resorts, Days Inn, and Super 8.
Prior to joining HFS, Elliot was vice president of U.S. communications and advertising for Dun and Bradstreet's AC Nielsen Marketing Research unit in Chicago. Elliot played a key role in the 1995 breakup of Dun and Bradstreet, and specifically in the spin-off (IPO) of AC Nielsen. From 1982 through 1992, he held senior communications positions within PepsiCo’s beverage, snack food and restaurant divisions -- Pepsi-Cola Company, Frito-Lay, Inc. and Taco Bell Corp. While at Taco Bell, he and CEO, John Martin, played an integral role in the development, implementation and communication of the widely recognized "Value Menu" marketing program in 1989. In August 1988, Elliot convinced Taco Bell management to sponsor the first American/Soviet baseball tournament. The goodwill tournament, played in Moscow, Kiev and Tbilisi, received widespread media coverage and helped to brand Taco Bell as a mainstream fast food chain.
Early in his career, Elliot was a trade journalist and held senior editorial positions at two publications specializing in the consumer packaged goods industry - Private Label Magazine, which he helped to found in 1978; and one of the oldest and most respected industry publications in the United States, Beverage World.
Elliot is an avid long-distance runner who has completed 37 marathons. He serves on the boards of the Achilles Track Club and After-School All-Stars of New York City. He also served as a director on the board of the Food Research and Action Center (FRAC) from 1994 to 2004. He has been recognized on numerous occasions by local chapters of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) for outstanding work in public relations and communications. |
